People across Kent will turn out to remember those who have died around the world in conflict this weekend.

Armistice Day will be marked today with a two minute silence at 11am, which signifies the moment when guns fell silent during the First World War.

There will also be another chance to observe a respective silence at the same time tomorrow.

Remembrance Sunday parades will take place across Kent including in the Memorial Gardens off Church Road, Ashford.

Maidstone will have its service being off Week Street at 10.30am arriving at memorial for a service of remembrance at 10.50am.

In Hythe the remembrance parade and service will take place at the War Memorial alongside the Royal Military Canal at 10.50am.

Meanwhile, there will be a ceremony from 10.30am to 11.30am at the War Memorial on The Leas, Folkestone.

The Remembrance Day service at the War Memorial in Central Avenue, Sittingbourne, will commence at 10.50am.

People in Sheerness will be gathering at the Cenotaph from 10.30am, before heading to Holy Trinity Church.

Thanet residents will have to gather at Elms Avenue, marching via Queen Street, King Street and Broad Street from 10.40am.

In Canterbury the Sunday service will take place at the Cenotaph in Longmarket from 9.45am.

People will be paying their respects at Christ Church, William Street, Herne Bay, from 9.30am.

Faversham's service is to start at Queens Hall in Forbes Road, led by the Brigade of Gurkhas.

The former Whitstable lord mayor, Cllr George Metcalfe, will attend a service at the War Memorial, Oxford Street on Sunday, followed by a reception at the Royal British Legion club. The service starts at 10.30am.

The annual Remembrance Sunday service at Gravesend will be held at the Windmill Hill Memorial Gardens.

Dartford’s Service of Remembrance will take place 10.40am tomorrow at the War Memorial in Central Park, followed by a march past by veterans and youth organisations, from the High Street and along Market Street.

At 10.30am a procession will start from Marks and Spencer in Biggin Street, Dover.

Sandwich is going to begin its commemorations at 10.45am where there will be a march to Market Street.

In Medway, there will be a short service and wreath-laying at Victoria Gardens in Chatham at at 10.45am today.

Tomorrow will include a Royal Naval service at the Great Lines war memorial in Gillingham at 9am.

There will also be a wreath-laying ceremony at Medway Park memorial in Gillingham at 10am, followed by a march-past and salute to St Mark’s Church for a service.

Meanwhile a service will take place at Victoria Gardens, Chatham, proceeded by a parade from Richard Street, behind Debenhams.

At 10.15am there will be a service at St Margaret’s Church, Rainham, followed by a parade and wreath-laying at the nearby war memorial.

In Rochester, there will be a parade from the Guildhall Museum, High Street, to Rochester Cathedral for a service of remembrance at 10.50am, followed by wreath-laying at the Cenotaph in the High Street.

There will also be a wreath-laying ceremony at 11am at Brompton war memorial.

Finally,two new memorial benches will be dedicated at the Hamilton Road Cemetery in Deal at 10.50am today.

A service and wreath laying will take place at the hospital's war memorial tomorrow at the same time.
