PRINCESS Alexandra is pictured with Robbie the dog, owner Mrs Daphne Glue and vet Jaya at the
official opening of a new animal hospital in Gillingham Business Park on Tuesday.
The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) £700 PetAid hospital provides help for people who cannot afford vet's fees.
Welcoming the Princess, who is patron of the charity, the PDSA's chairman, Roy Trustram Eve, described the veterinary hospital as "magnificent".
He said the PDSA was very proud of its facilities, but said this year it would need to raise £58 million through the voluntary sector to fund its work caring for 4,500 animals every day.
During her tour, the Princess inspected the two operating rooms and talked with staff, fundraisers and visitors.
