Dartford moved 11 points clear at the top of the Ryman League Premier Division after a 2-0 Kent derby win over Tonbridge on Tuesday.
After an even first half, Darts took a 57th-minute lead through Allan Tait (pictured) and doubled their advantage late on when substitute Danny Harris - signed the previous day from Bishop's Stortford - curled home the second.
Maidstone dropped to 10th place after they lost their first away game of the campaign, going down 1-0 at Horsham.
Jack Lyons' second-half goal proved decisive but the Stones should have earned at least a point after missing a number of good chances.
Cray Wanderers bagged their first home point, after five successive defeats, when they drew 1-1 with Boreham Wood.
Dean Green gave Boreham Wood a first-half lead but Lewis Wood equalised before the break to earn Ian Jenkins' side a draw.
First-half goals from Brendon Cass and Justin Ascheri saw Chatham maintain their unbeaten home record by overcoming Whitstable 2-0 in Division 1 South.
A last-gasp winner by Hicham Akhazzan saw Sittingbourne beat Ramsgate 2-1.
Jimmy Bottle gave the Brickies the lead but Curtis Winnett levelled for Ramsgate with 15 minutes left.
Jimmy Jackson’s screamer ensured Folkestone’s unbeaten away record continued as they claimed a rather fortuitous 1-1 draw at second-placed Merstham.
Merstham winger Michael Gordon had given the hosts the lead but Jackson equalised before half-time.
Thamesmead missed the chance to go clear at the top of Division 1 North after losing 1-0 at Tilbury.
VCD maintained their impressive home form with a 4-2 victory over East Thurrock at Oakwood.
