Security van driver fights off raiders

DETECTIVES at Maidstone today renewed their appeal for information about an attempted robbery in which a security van driver fought off raiders who struck outside a post office.
The driver was attacked by two men as he went into Coxheath Post Office in Heath Road last Friday at about 11.45am.
The driver was grabbed from behind by one of the two men who tried to take the security box he was carrying.
A police spokeswoman said: "The victim managed to knock the offender away and the two men made off in an awaiting black coloured car, being driver by a third offender."
The offender who grabbed the victim was a white man and aged between 19 and 24. He was 5ft 11in tall, of medium build, with short dark hair and was wearing a blue and white hooded top with horizontal stripes and trainers.
The second offender was a white man and the driver of the getaway car was a black man.
No weapons were used or seen in the attack and no one was injured.
