Sheep savaged to death by dogs
00:00, 26 September 2003
A SHEEP has been killed at Cranbrook in an attack by two dogs - a brindle Lurcher and a black German Shepherd.
When the farmer approached the dogs they became aggressive before running off in the direction of Staplehurst.
One of the dogs, which had no collar or identification, was later found and put down, but the other escaped.
It is the first incident of sheep worrying in the Weald area for several months and police are searching for the owner or owners of the dogs. The killing happened at about 5.20pm last Friday at a farm in Goudhurst Road, Cranbrook.
Anyone who has recently lost a brindle Lurcher or black German Shepherd or knows anything about the animals, is asked to telephone Ashford Police on 01233 611055.
