Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League Premier Division round-up
09:02, 18 July 2011
Saturday's atrocious weather meant that only one match in the Shepherd Neame Kent League Premier Division saw any action, but it produced a significant result.
In a game reduced to 20 overs a side, Bexley beat Sibton Park by nine wickets to leapfrog Bromley at the top of the table.
Bexley invited Sibton to bat and Australian opener Tim Bishop made a spirited 51 but received little support as the Lyminge side made 121-9. Min Patel (pictured) was the pick of the Bexley bowlers with 3-13 from his four-over spell.
The former Kent player then hit a quickfire unbeaten 74 as Bexley made light work of their target, wrapping up victory in the 14th over on 125-1. Defeat for Sibton Park leaves them second from bottom, 24 points adrift from safety.
