Shopping centre goes green with exhibition

00:00, 05 October 2007

SHOPPING centre bosses are hoping to turn customers green this month.

The Pentagon Centre has linked up with Medway Council for an exhibition set for launch on Saturday.

The displays will explain how shoppers can do their bit to help protect the environment and reduce global warming.

Shoppers visiting the exhibition will be able to find out more about recycling waste, saving energy and reducing their carbon footprint.

Adults and children will have an opportunity to take part in a variety of fun activities and competitions and anyone who spends more than £10 within the Centre will be given a free re-usable calico fabric shopping bag.

Pentagon boss Martyn Stone, said: “During ‘green’ month, we will be inviting people to think about the impact they have on the environment and advise them how they can adopt greener lifestyle."

Children aged 10 years old and under are invited to take part in a ‘Go Green’ fancy dress competition and a ‘Design a Poster’ competition to promote the message ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’.

Three winners will each be awarded prizes of £20 book tokens.
