LEGENDARY singer Van Morrison may headline the Rochester Castle Garden summer concerts this year.

Chart-topping girl group the Sugababes could also be in the line-up - negotiations are still continuing.

Van Morrison, who was born in Ireland, has produced around 30 albums since he launched his career in the late 60s. His classic hits include Brown Eyed Girl and Moondance.

The season of concerts begins on Thursday, July 13 and continues on July 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22.

Tickets for the other gigs booked - Dancing in the Streets, Bjorn Again and the UK Beach Boys, Jools Holland and The Royal Philharmonic - are on sale now.

They are available from the Visitor Information Centre, Rochester High Street, or log on to www.castleconcerts.co.uk.
