THOUSANDS of families and visitors alike are set to flock to a town this Christmas after it was given the green light for its first-ever ice skating rink.
Queen’s Garden in the centre of Bromley is expected to draw in the crowds when it’s transformed into a winter wonderland able to entertain up to 100 people at a time.
The thumbs-up was given to the temporary 300 square metre rink and a marquee with cloakrooms and catering at a council planning meeting. It will be set up between November 27 and January 8.
Cllr Colin Bloom, Bromley's cabinet member for local economy, said: "Creating a more attractive destination will bring more visitors to the town, with added benefits for the shops and restaurants."
