FOOTBALL chants will be replaced by the crooning classics of pop legend Elton John when he appears at Charlton Football Club's ground this summer.
The multi-millionaire singer will perform at The Valley on Sunday, June 4.
The concert is a major coup for the Addicks, and comes 30 years after the live concerts featuring The Who in 1974 and 1976.
Sir Elton known for his flamboyance, energy and costumes, often appears wearing elaborate head wear, feather boas and platform shoes.
This outdoor concert will be staged in a specially-created arena of strictly limited capacity, and with reserved seating throughout, including seating on the pitch. It will feature many of his best loved songs, old and new, performed with a full band.
Charlton competed with five other Premiership clubs to score the high profile concert.
Tickets will go on public sale on Saturday, February 11, at 9am. Call the 24-hour credit card hotline 0871 230 4426.
