Speeding drivers caught in the act

Reckless drivers have been stopped in their tracks by police cracking down on speeding in two Sheppey villages.
Officers in the Island Neighbourhood Team have responded to concerns raised at Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meetings.
They have been carrying out regular high profile speed checks in Scocles Road, Minster, and Church Road, Eastchurch.
So far, three people have been caught speeding. They each received three points on their driving licence and given a £60 fine.
One man was found to be doing 43mph in a 30mph zone.
PC Steve King, Island neighbourhood police officer for both areas, said: “Speeding motorists cause a worry for local residents and threaten the safety of others, which is why local people have raised it as a priority they want us to tackle.
“Our recent enforcement action will continue as people who drive dangerously are reckless in their actions and will be caught.”
