The FA Cup Final kicks off this weekend, Wimbledon starts next month and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham are less than 100 days away.
And while the UK is in the midst of a sporting summer, the Wards Children's Awards judging panel will also be teaming up to look at how this year's potential winners are lining up.
Nominations for this year's event are now open and among the six categories looking for entries this year is the Remarkable Achievement award.
Known in previous years as the 'Going for Gold' award, it seeks achievements in the world of sports as well as music, visual and performing arts.
It is primarily directed at children who are tackling and enjoying a hobby regardless of disability or illness.
Are you a sports coach or dance teacher who is witnessing some incredible achievement from one of your pupils? Do you belong to a rugby club, athletic club, tennis club or performing arts group in which a young person is doing amazing things?
Or perhaps you're a friend or family member connected to a club where you see a particular child give it their absolute everything week after week, come rain or shine, despite other challenges in their life.
Do you think it is time they were given some recognition?
Remarkable Achievement is a category specifically designed for children and young people who are winning awards or accolades or excelling in exams for a talent, skill or hobby, regardless of the restrictions any disability, condition or illness might be placing upon them.
Alternatively the award could also recognise someone who has fought off serious illness or had to withstand gruelling medical treatment while still being able to find the determination to continue within their sport, music or chosen art where they can.
And as with any of our awards - we're keen to accept those nominations from anyone. You can be from any team in Kent and Medway, you might be a coach, group leader, volunteer or even a school teacher who knows of a hard-working, talented, determined child who richly deserves a nomination in this category. You could even be their next door neighbour or family friend - if you know of someone we'd like to hear about them.
Nominations can be made online here and the process is quick and simple.
