From rapists, paedophiles thugs and thieves, lots of people were convicted of crimes last month.
So here are the criminals jailed in the county in June.
Peter Gregory
The 60-year-old paedophile subjected a child to a campaign of historic sexual abuse and isolation decades ago.
Gregory, of Clarendon Street, Dover, initially denied rape but later admitted attempted rape on the day of trial, earlier this year.
His victim told the court in a statement how her life is plagued with mental health issues brought on by the trauma she suffered, including PTSD, anxiety and suicidal thoughts.
Gregory was jailed for 16 years and was also handed an additional licence period of one year alongside a lifetime of notification requirements.
Hamdi Braiek
A self-styled preacher attacked a restaurant owner after claiming a female staff member was "showing her boobs".
Hamdi Braiek, 34, jumped on the head of his victim during a "ferociously violent" attack in Brenchley Gardens in Maidstone in May last year.
He had earlier attacked a transgender couple walking in the street asking if what they were doing was in line with their religious beliefs.
Braiek, an Uber Eats delivery driver of Hart Street, Maidstone, was jailed for eight years and three months.
James Biscoe
James Biscoe, from Dartford, had been travelling in a red Fiat Punto along Southborough Lane in Bromley when he hit 16-year-old Junior Alexander at 1.20am on Sunday, July 18, last year.
The 21-year-old, of Windsor Drive, was driving on the wrong side of the road and had an alcohol level within his body of approximately 106 micrograms per 100 milliliters of breath - the legal limit is 35.
Junior, who lived locally, was thrown some distance before hitting a tree. He suffered serious injuries and was found by members of the public around eight minutes later, but died shortly after at 6am.
Biscoe was sentenced to seven years in prison and was banned from driving for 10 years.
Lewis Taylor
Lewis Taylor of Regent Street, Whitstable, was jailed after a "Taser-like" device and a haul of cash was uncovered during a house raid.
The 33-year-old was described by a judge as being "in the upper echelon of a significant role" supplying drugs on a large scale, mainly in parts of east Kent.
A search of the property near Crowhurst Lane, West Kingsdown, led to the seizure of 23 grams of cocaine, quantities of cutting agents and more than £7,500 in cash -evidence also indicated Taylor had been organising the purchase of £185,000 of cocaine from a contact in northern England.
The court heard Taylor had previous convictions related to the supply of Class A drugs and he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years and 10 months’ imprisonment.
Oluwaseun Oseni
Sex attacker, Oluwaseun Oseni, 33, terrified his victim in Pudding Lane, Maidstone, last August, pouncing on her as she was waiting for a taxi and dragging her to a nearby car park.
The father-of-three, of Edmunds Avenue, Orpington, pulled the 16-year-old student to the ground and lay on top of her while partially clothed.
It was then that a good Samaritan, Theresa Locke, went to the victim's aid and pelted Oseni with stones, only to be struck in the face by him - leaving her with a black eye.
Oseni has been jailed for three years after admitting sexual assault and causing actual bodily harm to Ms Locke.
Adrian Marsh
Adrian Marsh continued to target a number of stores despite being barred from entering three supermarkets and a shop in Whitstable under the terms of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which he was handed in April.
The 41-year-old was prohibited from entering The Co-Op in Oxford Street, Boots in the High Street, Sainsbury's in Reeves Way and Tesco in Millstrood Road in the town for three years.
Marsh, of Canterbury Road, continued to offend - swiping meat, fish and booze from a number of stores in five separate thefts in May, breaching the CBO.
He was jailed for 21 months and made the subject of a further order banning him from a number of stores on his release.
Attaul Qayyum
The 22-year-old medical student who rigged cashpoints with hi-tech devices to seize bank cards and capture the owners' pin numbers on iPhone cameras was jailed.
Attaul Qayyum, from London, helped transform ATMs in Ramsgate and Broadstairs into potential money spinning traps as part of a “sophisticated” ruse.
The court heard Qayyum was handed a suspended sentence for committing a similar crime in Birmingham, just three months before targeting Kent.
He was handed a 15-month sentence.
Paul Ojo
A knifeman who carried out a ferocious attack outside the troubled Century Club in Lower Stone Street, Maidstone, has received an 11-year extended jail sentence.
The court heard how after suffering a number of serious wounds to his stomach, the 18-year-old victim was later air-lifted to a London Hospital and underwent major surgery.
Ojo, 23, of Barnfield Road, Orpington, was given an immediate nine-year prison sentence for wounding rival Richard Lakeman with a knife which broke during the savage attack, and will have to serve another two years on licence when he is released after serving at least six years for the wounding.
Quinton Nelson, 23, who also took part in the attack, received a four-year jail term.
Aurel Birlan
The 44-year-old of Watts Street, Chatham, repeatedly raped a woman while she lay unconscious.
The near two-hour ordeal in Medway during the early hours one morning in December only ended when he was confronted by a passer-by.
They noticed she was undressed, not moving and appeared to be injured, before calling 999.
Birlan was charged with two counts of rape, and three counts of sexual assault and was ordered to serve a minimum of eight years and three months before he is eligible to be considered for parole.
Haftom Etebarek
The 19-year-old, of Folkestone, repeatedly assaulted a woman in a town centre alleyway and then claimed to have HIV.
Etebarek subjected his victim to a sustained attack after she brushed off his advances in The Ashford Club, Ashford, in July last year.
Following his arrest, the Eritrean national would claim to be HIV positive, meaning his victim had to undergo months of medical examinations.
After appearing at Canterbury Crown Court, He was given a 10-year sentence inside a Young Offenders' Institute.
Stephen Saville
The paedophile who sexually abused three teenage girls was locked up for 25 years.
Saville, formerly of Cliffsend, Ramsgate, committed multiple sexual offences including rape between 2009 and 2017.
The 61-year-old convinced one of the girls they were in a consensual relationship and they were having an affair behind his partner’s back.
When she wanted to date boys her own age, Saville would tell her not to. It was then the girl reported the abuse in 2017.
On other occasions, Saville would shout abuse at his victims if he found them texting boys and he would ply them with alcohol before abusing them.
Wayne Sherlock
The failed Dover businessman was jailed for four years for being one of the main conspirators in an international human trafficking gang.
Sherlock, a former Irish Gaelic footballer, was arrested after a lorry with 10 Vietnamese adults was stopped in Belgium as police worked with the National Crime Agency (NCA).
The 42-year-old, from Malmains Road, Eythorn, admitted his part in the scam and has spent the past two years on remand - he was expected to be released immediately.
Maidstone Crown Court heard how none of the Vietnamese made it to the UK after Belgium police found them hidden in a lorry carrying tyres.
Jordan Nicholl
The drug dealer from Folkestone was jailed after police discovered he had used an encrypted software to organise deals across east Kent.
Using information gained from the criminal platform "Encrochat", detectives found that Nicholl and his brother Ryan were supplying drugs on a large scale between March and June 2020.
The 32-year-old, of Atkinson Road, Folkestone, later admitted conspiring to supply cannabis as well as possession of and transfer of criminal property.
The evidence against Nicholl stemmed partly from a police stop in May 2020, when officers in Deal became suspicious of a blue Renault Megane.
After the car was stopped, a search led to an encrypted mobile phone and £315,000 in cash being located and seized.
Lai Uong
The John Lewis stockroom worker was jailed after stealing more than £45,000 worth of tech including laptops, phones and Apple AirPods.
Uong worked at the Bluewater branch in Greenhithe, near Dartford, for more than 17 years before an internal investigation was launched after stock continued to go missing.
The 47-year-old, of Southfields, Gravesend, was locked up for two years and eight months at Woolwich Crown Court after admitting handling stolen goods.
Uong was also ordered to pay £170 in costs and a proceeds of crime application was launched.
Daniel Martin
This “stupid” blade-wielding meat thief screamed “I’ll slash you up” towards Marks and Spencer Foodhall staff during a crime spree, was locked up for 11 months.
The 38-year-old, of Church Road, Ashford, swept through five of the town’s shops stealing roasting joints, clothes and cosmetics, between February and April.
Canterbury Crown Court heard heard Martin, who has 22 convictions for 77 offences, set off on a one-man crime wave to help fund a crack cocaine addiction at the beginning of this year.
Martin fled with between 10-12 joints of meat from Aldi in Victoria Road in February, with his criminality swiftly escalating.
Grant Odejeh & Elias Spencer
The two men were locked up for 10 years each after forcing their way into a home and carrying out an attack with a machete.
Odejeh, 20, and Spencer, 23, repeatedly stabbed the victim as he laid defenceless on the floor, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.
The assault took place on November 20. Odejeh had initially threatened the man as he was with family and friends at a location in Temple Hill Square, Dartford.
Both parties were previously known to each other and Odejeh warned: "You’re lucky I don’t do you right now. I’ll stab you; I’ll kill you."
After appearing at Maidstone Crown Court, the two men were convicted of wounding with intent and possessing machetes in the savage attack at the victim's home.
Brandon Jones
The arsonist poured petrol through a woman's letterbox then fled on an e-scooter, leaving her home to burn with her and her child inside.
Jones targeted the young family in Gravesend after he had threatened the woman and she'd refused to let him in.
The 24-year-old, of Thistledown, had previously sent her threatening texts.
He threatened her again before leaving in a taxi. Jones travelled to another address where he collected his e-scooter and rode it to a service station in Perry Street.
There he filled a can with petrol before returning to the woman’s house and pouring the fuel through her letterbox. Jones ignited the petrol and the fire spread from the door into the hallway.
He pleaded guilty at Woolwich Crown Court, where he was sentenced to eight years in prison with a further four years to be served on licence.
Gavin Jarvis
This thug was jailed for three years and four months after threatening to stab an elderly woman at a knife-point robbery.
Jarvis threatened a member of staff and the customer in a newsagents with a knife before the offender stole cash from the till.
The 29-year-old, of Palmer Avenue, Gravesend, entered the Livingstone Road shop at 8.40pm on May 13.
Jarvis was arrested on May 30 and later charged with robbery and possession of a knife in a public place.
He appeared at Woolwich Crown Court where he admitted admitted the offences.
