Thirteen might be an unlucky number for some but for nominees attending the 13th Ward and Partners Children’s Awards, it could prove to be their lucky night.

An incredible 12 awards evenings have now gone before us – each one bringing to the judges’ attention a raft of brave, courageous and inspirational children.

It was 13 years ago when estate agent Ward and Partners was first approached by the Kent Community Foundation to become involved in an awards ceremony, which intended to recognise the outstanding achievements of young people in Kent living with illness or disability.

Having always been avid supporters and champions of such causes, the firm leapt at the chance to come on board as organisers, together with the KM Group as media partners.

The rest, they could say, is history. But for those involved with the Children’s Awards for more than a decade – from its relatively small start to the major event it is now – they are unlikely to ever forget the names and faces which have touched their hearts.

Sarah Osborne from the Kent Community Foundation explained: “Through the Ward and Partner’s Children’s Awards we are very privileged to hear some extraordinary stories and proud to be involved in recognising our county’s amazingly brave children.

“We are so grateful to Ward & Partners for the generosity and commitment involved in putting this event on year after year. It’s a really uplifting and enjoyable occasion for the award winners and their families.”

There are six categories open for nominations this year and you can complete them online here.
