A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued covering the whole county.
The Met Office has warned of potential sudden flooding, power cuts and lightning.
It is in place today from 12pm until 11.50pm.
A spokesman for the weather service said: “Heavy rain and thunderstorms may lead to some disruption.
“Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
“Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
“There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.”
They also warned of a slim possibility of flooding to homes and shops.
“In the south of this warning area, the focus is likely to be slow-moving heavy showers and thunderstorms, perhaps with hail and lightning, which should gradually ease away later on Tuesday evening,” they added.
Parts of south west England and Northern Ireland also have warnings in place.
