Thunderstorms are forecast to hit Kent and Medway again this afternoon, with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning.
The government agency has advised heavy showers and thunderstorms are “likely to cause some disruption to travel” between 1pm and 8pm on Wednesday.
The latest alert follows yesterday’s weather warning of thunder and lightning hitting the county.
Regarding today’s predicted downpours, the Met Office said: “There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.
“There will probably some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes.”
The Met Office also warned of possible delays to train services as well as short term loss of power.
It is hoped this will be the last spell of severe weather for a while, with no further warnings having been issued by the meteorologists at this present time.
“Where heavy showers develop, 15 mm of rain could fall within an hour and possibly 25-30 mm in 2-3 hours where showers become slow moving, along with lightning and hail.” they added.
