Forget kiss me quick hats and sticks of rock - Thanet tourism brings in £85m each year.
But new figures show the isle's tourism industry is worth twice that, adding £170m to the economy.
Nearly three million people visit the area each year, and they're spending nearly a fifth more than they did three years ago.
Cllr Roger Latchford thinks it's down to holidaymakers choosing to take their breaks at home.
He said spending had increased by 17 per cent since 2005.
