Traffic delays after crane crash on Wainscott bypass

A crash between a car and a large industrial crane resulted in tailbacks on the A289 between Wainscott and Frindsbury.
The crash happened at about 4.18pm yesterday on the London-bound carriageway It is not known if anyone was seriously injured in the crash.
Firefighters dealt with petrol leaking from one of the vehicles.
The male driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The road was closed and re-opened at 17:26.
One motorist who got caught up in the tailbacks, but didn’t want to be named, said: “One lane is blocked but the traffic is slowly moving.
“The ambulance was only there for a while, but police and firefighters were still at the scene when I drove past.”
