Trapped squirrel delays Southeastern trains

Trains into Kent were delayed this evening after a pet squirrel became trapped behind a grill underneath a seat.
The animal got into a spot of bother on a Southeastern service into Kent from London Victoria.
The rail operator warned passengers that trains would be delayed until the squirrel could be coaxed back out by its worried owners.
The drama unfolded at 8.15pm with the line partially blocked.
The train was diverted back to Victoria after the owners refused to leave the train without freeing their pet.
This was to clear the platform at Orpington to ease disruptions to other services.
Southeastern made light of the incident on its Twitter account, but not everyone saw the funny side, as you can see from the responses below.
