Trapped horse rescued by firefighters
00:00, 18 December 2002
FIREFIGHTERS were called in after a horse became trapped between parked cars at a stud and equestrian centre.
When they arrived at Firwood Court at Herne, near Herne Bay, yesterday morning the animal was in some distress.
A brigade official said: "It appears the animal had bolted from its paddock and tried to get out behind some cars in a compound. When it couldn't back out, it seems that it tried to jump over the bonnet of a car and got stuck between the cars and the stables."
The firefighters moved the cars with a winch and backed the animal out to safety, frightened and distressed but not injured.
