Southeastern has urged people not to travel on its network tomorrow, as a number of services are cancelled due to snow being forecast.

The news comes as more of Kent has now been included in an amber snow warning by the Met Office.

In a statement, Southeastern said, given the severity of the forecast: "We strongly advise that you do not attempt to travel on our network on Sunday."

Services affected tomorrow are Dover Priory to Ramsgate; the Medway Valley Line; the Sheerness Line; Hastings to Tonbridge and the Bromley North Line.

No replacement services will be available.

Kent Highways have said gritters are also set to take to main routes this afternoon to help prevent ice and frost developing on roads overnight.

The announcement comes as the Met Office's amber snow warning has been extended to cover much of the county, from 4am on Sunday through to 9am on Monday.

Snow could be 10 to 20cms in places and there is a small chance that the hills over North Kent could see as much as 25cms.

The forecast predicts rain this evening increasingly turning to snow in the late evening and overnight.

The south of the county, however, has a yellow warning with less of an impact predicted.
