Joint trustees with a Kent firm have been appointed to sort out the financial affairs of Kerry Katona.
The Atomic Kitten band member and Celebrity Big Brother winner in 2011, has been declared bankrupt for the second time.
Maxine Reid and Andrew Tate of Reeves & Co LLP, with offices in Chatham Maritime and Canterbury, are insolvency practitioners who were appointed joint trustees of Ms Katona’s bankruptcy estate on July 24 following an appointment by the Secretary of State.
The celebrity was declared bankrupt following her own bankruptcy petition at Wigan County Court on July 2 under the name Kerry Jayne Elizabeth Katona.
Despite this being the 32 year old’s second bankruptcy in a five-year period, she is expected to be discharged from her bankruptcy after 12 months.
Maxine Reid, joint trustee and director of restructuring at Reeves, said: “Following the presentation of her own bankruptcy petition Ms Katona was declared bankrupt on July 2, 2013. Andrew and I are appointed as Officers of the Court and our primary duty as Trustees of a bankruptcy estate is to realise a debtor’s assets for the benefit of their creditors. We are therefore in the process of establishing the full extent of Ms Katona’s assets and liabilities.”
