Two hurt in "suspicious" house blaze
10:14, 03 December 2008
A late-night house fire in which two people were injured is being treated as suspicious by police.
Medway officers are investigating the blaze in an end-of-terrace property in Brompton Lane, Strood, on Tuesday night.
Three crews from Strood and Medway fire stations were called to the scene shortly before midnight.
When they arrived a man and a woman had freed themselves from the burning building by climbing out of a small window.
Police closed the road while ambulance crews treated the pair for smoke inhalation.
The blaze comes only weeks after the neighbouring house was badly damaged by fire.
