Two seriously hurt in car smash
00:00, 01 April 2005
TWO motorists suffered serious leg injuries in a car accident on the A26 on Wednesday.
The crash happened at Eridge, just south of Tunbridge Wells, at the junction of Crowborough Road and Forge Road.
Fire crews from Tunbridge Wells and Crowborough were called to release both drivers.
Hydraulic rescue equipment was used to cut them free from the wreckage, and both were taken by ambulance to the Kent and Sussex Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, where they were detained for treatment.
Sussex Police have meanwhile appealed for the driver of a black car - possibly a Honda saloon - fitted with a roof box, to contact them, as the driver could be a crucial witness to the collision.
That person, and any other witnesses, are asked to call the Road Policing Department at Polegate on 0845 60 70 999, extension 69305.
