00:00, 04 October 2001
A CURVED shop window, dated from before the Second World War, has been smashed by a young vandal at Westbrook near Margate. It was very rare and valued at more than £2,000.
The windows in all the adjacent shops are standard plate glass and worth a fraction of the value. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place at about 3am on Sunday.
The culprit is described as being about 19 years old, around 5ft 8in tall and of slim build. He had blond hair in a curtains style, and was wearing dark trousers and a dark top.
A witness saw him run away after kicking the window. He was followed by a group of youths.
