Vicious attack on girl in subway

A GIRL of 15 was sujected to a terrifying attack as she walked through an underpass. Police say a dog walker may have vital information about the incident.
The man, who was out walking his dog in Ito Way, Gillingham, on Saturday, May 21, may be able to give detectives clues to the identity of the man who attacked the student as she walked through a subway with a friend.
The terrifying incident happened between 9.15pm and 9.30pm, when the pair were in the underpass.
The girls were approached by a man who grabbed the 15-year-old around the neck and shoulder and began repeatedly punching her and then dragged her to the ground.
A spokesman for Medway Police said: "The girl’s friend went to try and get help and spoke to a man who was walking his dog and who was just about to enter the subway.
"As this man entered the subway the offender left and made his way out of the underpass.
"We would like to speak to this witness as a matter of urgency and would ask him to contact Roger Golding at Medway police on 01634 884035.
"The student received some swelling to her face and reddening to the skin."
The offender is described as being 40 to 45-years-old, 5ft 8in and of medium build with short brown hair. He had an unkempt appearance, black puffa jacket and a blue baseball cap.
