Weather warning for rain for Kent as flooding and thunderstorm expected

Heavy rain and even surface water flooding are expected today - as Kent is hit with a weather warning for rain.

Outbreaks of rain - sometimes heavy - are expected to last all day, with an increasing risk of heavy, thundery showers.

The warning, which starts at 9am today and lasts for 24 hours, predicts there could be more than 25mm of rainfall in a short space of time.

Mist and low cloud could affect the Kent coast at times but, despite this, temperatures could hit a balmy 20°C.
