Weather decimated the schedule on the opening day of the Kent Cricket League season.

In the Premier Division the only game to take place went the distance, with Bexley recording a winning draw against Sevenoaks Vine.

Greg Bain led the way with 69 for the hosts as they posted 180-8, but Vine held on in reply with a half-century stand for the sixth wicket between Chris Hammond (30 not out) and Miles Richardson (20) steering them to a share of the points as they closed on 157-6 from their 55 overs.

Folkestone lead the way in Division 1 after a 94-run win over Tenterden.

Adam Hastilow (pictured) rattled a lively 64 for the hosts and received support from Himanshu Waingankar (66) as Folkestone cruised to 181-2 before closing on 232-5 from their 50 overs.

Spinner Thomas Cullen then made light work of the Tenterden reply, taking 5-51 off 12 overs as Tenterden collapsed, losing their last seven wickets for the addition of just 12 runs, despite having been given a solid start by Andrew Crawford’s 59.

They were eventually dismissed for 138 in 44 overs.

Michael Hales Jr smashed an unbeaten 111 as Upchurch were held to a winning draw at home to HSBC in Division 2.

Hales’ 124-ball knock helped the home side to 222-5 – all the more impressive as they had lost their openers before a run was scored.

Hales and Lee Taylor (69) shared a 143-run stand for the third wicket and then Nathan Nichol and Craig Bewick collected three wickets apiece as the visitors were reduced to 74-8 in reply, only for Jordan Heard and Nathan Hill to share a patient 28-run stand for the Bankers to stave off the threat of defeat.

Michael Castle took 5-16 as Addington Village demolished Holmesdale by eight wickets in Division 3.

Castle and Neil Scott (3-16) helped skittle the visitors for just 51, a total which the Villagers surpassed in 22 overs for the loss of just two wickets.
