A yellow weather warning has been issued for Kent with heavy rainfall expected to hit the county.

The alert has been put in force by the Met Office from 3pm tomorrow (Sunday) until 9am on Monday.

It says periods of heavy rain could lead to disruption, particularly to transport services, across the county.

People are being warned journey times on bus and train services could take longer.

Spray and flooding on roads is also on the cards with the potential for closures.

Meanwhile, homes and businesses could be damaged and some communities cut-off due to potential flooding.

The county could see between 15 and 25mm of rain during the warning period.

However, some areas across the south east England may see as much as 40mm of rain.

The Met Office insists people living in homes at risk of flooding should consider preparing a plan and an emergency flood kit.

Drivers are also being advised to amend their travel plans, if necessary, to avoid delays.
