Heavy rain set to hit Kent as yellow weather warning issued

A yellow weather warning has been issued for Kent as heavy rainfall is expected to hit the county.
The alert will be in force on Friday from 6am until 8pm.
The Met Office is warning there is a chance that a period of heavy rainfall, on top of recent downpours, could cause disruption to travel.
Homes and businesses could also become flooded, causing damage to buildings.
Spray and flooding may also lead to difficult driving conditions and there is a small chance of road closures.
Possible flooding could also lead to delays and/or cancellations of public transport services.
It comes as a rare red weather warning stating there is a “risk to life” has been issued for parts of Scotland as Storm Babet is expected to batter the UK on Thursday.
Britain is bracing for heavy wind and rain from the storm, which is currently hitting Ireland after sweeping in from the Atlantic.
