Heavy rainfall is expected to hit the county this weekend, with the chance of disruption to homes, businesses and services.

The alert will be in force all of Saturday and now until midnight on Sunday.

It had initially been expected to be lifted at 6am.

This is the third warning of the week, with the first being issued on Tuesday.

Many areas are expected to see 15-30 mm of rain, while the wettest spots – most likely close to English Channel coasts – could see 50-70 mm.

Overnight on Saturday, leading into Sunday morning, strong winds of 45-55 mph are also predicted along exposed parts of the coastline.

Weather experts warn there is a “small chance” that homes and businesses could be flooded.

There may be delays or cancellations to train and bus services as well.
