Forecasters warned of thunderstorms and heavy rain - but the severe weather is yet to arrive in Kent.
The county braced itself as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain this afternoon and into tomorrow.
But instead, people are basking in warm sunshine, with temperatures in the low to mid 20s.
From midday today, we were expected to experience rumbles of thunder and lightning strikes thanks to "warm, very humid air" moving in from France.
Isolated storms and heavy downpours of rain and hail were also forecast, but none have been reported in Kent.
Initially, the Met Office predicted that 25 to 50mm of rain would fall in the south east. This has since been changed to between 20 and 30mm - and mostly towards the west of the country.
A Met Office spokesman said today: "Isolated sever thunderstorms may well develop further east, bringing the risk of torrential downpours.
"Whilst most places will miss the heavier rain, the public should be aware that there is a chance of some very heavy localised significant disruption, mainly from surface water flooding.
"Lightning and hail could also cause some impacts."
The yellow weather warning for rain in the south east came into effect at 11am today and lasts until 9am tomorrow.
The conditions echo those experienced in Kent last week, when the county was the hottest place in the country - while also being hit by severe thunderstorms, heavy rain and hailstones the size of 50p pieces.
