Weekend of top music to keep punters dancing
15:12, 31 July 2007
CLOSE to 15,000 fans will hear not one but two Mercury Music Prize nominees at the Electric Gardens festival this weekend.
The festival at Mount Ephraim on Saturday and Sunday is almost sold out and campers have until 5pm on Thursday to book their spot.
Supergrass and the Happy Mondays will lead more than 50 acts on four stages over the two days.
In the Young Knives and New Young Pony Club, fans will get a taste of two bands tipped for Mercury glory but there is something for all tastes.
The line-up also boasts three top-10 acts in the UK’s chart last month in Kate Nash, Jack Penate and Calvin Harris.
Dance heavyweights Justin Robertson and Danny Howells are just two of a pulsating line-up in the Club Class dance tent.
Tickets are £40 per day or £75 for the weekend. Weekend camping tickets are £80.
They are available at www.ticketmaster.co.uk or 0871 2309 848 and www.seetickets.com or 0871 2200 260. Tickets are also on sale from the Marlowe Theatre on 01227 787787.
There will be a limited number of tickets available on the gate, although readers are reminded that the event is certain to sell out.
Gates open at noon on both days and close at 10.30pm on Saturday and 9.30pm on Sunday.
