Second-half goals from strikers Ross Lafayette and Keirnan Hughes-Mason helped Welling to their first home win of the season in Blue Square Bet South on Tuesday night.

The Wings were always in control against a medicore Eastbourne team, who hit the woodwork twice in the second half but offered very little as an attacking force.

Hughes-Mason was gifted an opening inside the first minutes but hesitated in front of goal while Lafayette's long-range shot lacked power to trouble keeper Danny Potter.

The closest Welling came to a breakthrough was on the stroke of half-time when Scott Kinch crossed into the area but Lafayette sent his effort wide at full stretch.

Welling took the lead five minutes into the second half when the returning Loui Fazakerley's brilliant cross was headed in by Lafayette for his fourth goal in as many games since joining from Hemel Hempstead.

The hosts quickly replaced Kinch, who was in danger of collecting a second caution, and then wrapped the points up with 16 minutes left. Lafayette helped the ball on and Hughes-Mason's pace and persistence paid off as he bundled his effort past the grounded Potter.

Bromley routed AFC Hornchurch at Hayes Lane to record their first win of the season, with Pierre Joseph-Dubois and Richard Pacquette bagging two goals each.

Joseph-Dubois swept home the opening goal on four minutes and it was 2-0 seven minutes later when Pacquette headed in a left-wing corner.

The Lillywhites grabbed another goal midway through the first-half when Joseph-Dubois seized on Hornchurch hesitation to double his tally. The rout was completed on 52 minutes when Pacquette scored from the penalty spot after Moses Swaibu had been fouled.
