Matt Bodkin is believed to be top of Welling player/manager Jamie Day's summer signings wishlist.
Bodkin, who was with Thurrock last season, is a former team-mate of Day and is well liked at Park View Road having previously played for the Wings when Adrian Pennock was in charge.
Day (pictured) refused to be drawn on the winger but admitted: "With Thurrock going down there might be one or two there that we like.
"There's a few players that we would like to bring in. We're always on the look-out, we've got a list that we want to target and it's a case of whether we can afford them as well."
Former Gillingham youngster Bodkin has also had spells with Grays, Eastleigh and Dartford.
Ex-Wings boss Andy Ford turned down the chance to bring Bodkin back to Welling during his spell in charge.
