Captain Jack Parkinson has become the second Welling player to sign for Woking on Friday.
Parkinson (pictured), who turned down a move to League 1 Stevenage last summer, has opted to move up only one level and joined Woking, who won Blue Square Bet South last season.
He links up again with ex-Wings striker Loick Pires, although, as with the former Leyton Orient forward, Parkinson's fee will be decided by a tribunal as no deal has been agreed between the two clubs.
It means Woking could be left with a substantial transfer fee to be paid for the pair in the months ahead.
Parkinson, who was also linked with AFC Wimbledon, is believed to have already turned down an offer from Sutton this summer.
As one of the highest earners at the club, Parkinson's departure will free up more funds in manager Jamie Day's budget which, despite reports, will not be less than at the start of last season.
And there was better news for Welling fans after left-back Jack Obersteller penned a new one-year deal later in the day.
Obersteller, the subject of interest of interest from League 2 Gillingham last summer, again impressed for the Wings and will be seen as a key signing by Day.
