Why buying new can cut out spending and stress

09:19, 04 November 2011

Property-seekers are being urged to take a closer look at the financial rewards which come with buying a new home at Taylor Wimpey's Mistletoe Court in Gillingham.

Recent research has revealed the average person who buys a second-hand property spends £22,000 on getting it just the way they want it, plus at least five hours per week spent on DIY jobs and gardening to bring things up to scratch.

The potential headaches don't end there, though, with poor energy efficiency, dated security and safety features, no guarantees or warranties, structural problems and the hassle and uncertainty of a property chain making buying a second-hand home a risky, stressful and expensive business.

But, Taylor Wimpey say that by buying new at Mistletoe Court, home-hunters can sidestep all these potential problems and enjoy a healthier bank balance in the process.

Jason Stokes, of Taylor Wimpey South East, says: "It really pays to buy brand new at Mistletoe Court, as home-owners are eliminating all the unforeseen costs which can come with an older home.

"They can relax, safe in the knowledge there's no upward property chain to worry about - as well as look forward to lower energy bills and having no expensive DIY projects, maintenance issues or repairs to worry about.

"All new homes at Mistletoe Court incorporate modern security features and meet the very latest stringent fire safety legislation. Add in the great value prices of the beautiful new homes at this stunning development and it's hard to imagine home-buyers considering living anywhere else."

New three-bedroom houses are on sale at Mistletoe Court from £175,500, while spacious four-bedroom homes are priced from £194,995.

To find out more about Mistletoe Court, property-seekers can visit the sales and marketing suite, off Christmas Street, Gillingham which is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm or ring the sales office on 0845 671 3270.
