Woman fighting for life after A299 Thanet Way crash
16:23, 02 April 2017
A woman is fighting for her life after being rescued from the wreckage of a serious crash.
Police revealed this afternoon that the casualty, who was one of two people airlifted to hospital after being in the smash on the London-bound A299 Thanet Way yesterday, is in a critical condition.
The other woman is said to be stable.
A report issued by the air ambulance says one casualty, who was thought to be one of the drivers, was treated by a Critical Care Paramedic for head and neck injuries before being flown to King's College Hospital.
The news comes as officers issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward this morning, less than 24 hours after the incident happened.
In total six people needed to be treated for their injuries after many were left trapped in their vehicles.
Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash and is appealing for anyone who saw the events unfold to come forward.
