A HEAD-ON collision between two cars closed the A228 Maidstone Road between Pembury and Colts Hill for more than four hours last night. Fire crews used hydraulic cutting gear to free both drivers from the wreckage and one of them, a woman, suffered serious injuries to her legs.
The other driver, a male, also suffered leg injuries. Ambulances took the caualties to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells. Neither driver has yet been named.
The accident happened at about 6pm as the cars were travelling in opposite directions. The road was eventually re-opened at 10.30pm.
