The world’s largest inflatable obstacle course will be coming to Kent next year for its UK’s premiere.

Betteshanger Country Park will be the first place in the UK to host ‘The Beast’ from May 26 to 29.

This ultimate bouncy castle experience will welcome visitors of all ages to take on the challenge.

Lynnette Crisp, marketing executive at Betteshanger, said: “We are over the moon that the Beast is coming to us next year and we’ll be the first UK destination to have it before it goes to London for the summer.

“It’s aimed at everyone really but the scale of The Beast does limit it for younger children so tickets will be available to children over the age of eight.

“But it will be a real family day, just everybody looking for a good day out and particularly for slightly older people to unleash the kid in them and get them bouncing again.

“Next year is a huge year for Betteshanger as we are opening some great new facilities on the site including an £8 million new visitor centre which will be home to the Kent Mining Museum.”

Measuring almost 900 feet, the record for conquering the Beast is an impressive three minutes while the average visitor will take 12 minutes to complete the course.

At 272m the Beast certainly lives up to its name and while on Friday May 26 it will be reserved for corporate bookings, Saturday through to Monday will be open to the public.

There will also be evening sessions and party nights on the Friday and Saturday evenings.

The Beast is owned by Belgium company V-Formation and their ultimate goal is to build an inflatable course which is a kilometre long.

Benedikt De Vreese, the owner, said: “We know that kids love these sorts of inflatables but we’ve discovered that inflatables versus adults is even better.

“And that’s why we said we needed to build a big obstacle course and just extend and extend.

“We started with nine metres and now we’re at more than 200 metres and the plan is to double the thing in 2017.

“Our final target is over one kilometre of inflatable obstacle course which would probably take you more than an hour to complete.

“It’s actually for all ages, for everyone but to do it by yourself you need to be older than twelve otherwise you might need some help.”

Tickets will be released in January. Betteshanger members and newsletter subscribers will have access to pre-sale tickets 24 hours in advance of the general sale.

The Betteshanger country park is set up in an old colliery and is part of the wider multi-million pound Betteshanger Sustainable Parks scheme and located near Deal by the A258.

The 250-acre site hosts outdoor sporting and adventure activities and is the most important cycling centre in East Kent with a 3-kilometre road cycling track and a further 10 kilometres of mountain bike trails.
