The Met Office has issued an amber level fog warning across all of Kent.

Motorists are being advised to "drive very slowly" by the weather surveyors, who believe the low hanging water droplets will last until 10am.

A statement on their website says: "Areas of dense fog are expected this morning, especially over higher routes.

"The fog is expected to continue through the morning travel period before clearing later this morning."

The Met Office similarly advises drivers to do the following:

  • use dipped headlights as full beams reflect off the fog
  • increase distance between yourself and other cars
  • keep an eye on your vehicle's speed
  • use fog lights if possible

People flying are also told to check for any delays.
