Cast from Return to the Forbidden Planet Town

The third annual youth musical by the Sarah Thorne Theatre Club is staged at the Hilderstone Memorial Theatre in Broadstairs on Saturday (July 18) and Sunday (July 19).

Return To The Forbidden Planet is expected to follow hot on the heels of the first successful productions, Les Miserables and Jekyll and Hyde.

The club's professional director Lisa Payne and musical director Edward Greenhalgh auditioned the cast from local schools and the young people involved will gain valuable stage experience - former member Ellen Gould who was in the two previous musicals also appeared as the junior lead in pantomime at the Granville Theatre, Ramsgate, last year.

This year the cast comes from St George's, Clarendon House, Thanet College, Canterbury College, Great Oaks Small School, Ellington and Hereson School.

Sarah Thorne is a Community Interest Company and apart from a small grant from a KCC, the youth show is financed by internal fund raising, box office and ticket sales from the young members.
