Ba quick to make an impression

Striker Georges Ba made an impressive impact on his debut in England as he helped turn Tuesday’s 2-1 over Luton in Gillingham favour.
Gills manager Mark Stimson took a gamble and put Ba on for the final 25 minutes and his decision paid off.
“He came on and did what we’ve seen in training,” said Stimson. “Occasionally he shows a great bit of vision and next move he just runs into someone. He was effective.”
Also making his league debut was another striker Donovan Simmonds who recently joined on loan from Coventry.
“With people like him Donovan and Leroy Griffiths on the bench can only put us in good stead for the remaining five games,” said Stimson.
“Donovan looked like he had those silky feet to cause teams problems. They are all probably going to be needed for the remainder of the season and if they put performances in like that then we’ll all be pleased.”
