Gills captain Adam Barrett says team will stand firm as struggles continue at Crawley

Captain Adam Barrett says unity is the key to improved Gills results.
Barrett knows the team must stand firm after failing to win any of their eight games so far this season.
“We are disappointed but we need to regroup and start battling and scrapping for points,” said Barrett, after Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Crawley.
“We need to stick together. We are just six games into (the league season) and there is a long way to go. We have to start fighting because we want to start climbing the table.
“It is difficult, coming off the back of last year, when everything went our way but we are finding things tough.”
Despite the lack of wins, Barrett insists the players remain upbeat.
He said: “Teams do have bad starts and recover and we have to show we are one of those teams.
“The lads will never give up. There is no negativity there. It’s a positive bunch of players and will be all right.”
