LEICESTER manager Dave Bassett today dismissed a report that former Gillingham striker Ade Akinbiyi was on the verge of a £2.5 million move to Crystal Palace and could face his former club in tomorrow night's rearranged match at Selhurst Park.
Bassett said: "There is nothing in the story. We have Trevor Benjamin on loan there and maybe somebody has got confused."
Meanwhile, a Football Association spokesman said today that they were awaiting referee Bob Harris's report into an allegation that one of his assistants was hit by a coin during Gillingham's 1-0 home defeat by Sheffield United on Saturday.
