WHITSTABLE FC's Mo Kadi has been suspended until the end of March after being handed a 70-day ban for his part in a New Year's Day incident with Herne Bay's Clive Stace.

The striker stood accused of biting Bay's Stace during the match at The Belmont, but always maintained that he had only ever pinched his opponent.

He was originally charged with serious misconduct and banned pending a disciplinary hearing, but when he appeared before a KCFA commission he was found guilty of violent conduct.

The ban was imposed with immediate affect, although the commission took into account the 40 days Kadi had already served after being suspended by the KCFA on January 11. He was also fined £50.

A charge against Whitstable of failing to control their players was dropped while Herne Bay's Stace escaped punishment but was warned about his future conduct.

Both players had been sent off by Kennington referee Paul Kelly after the 89th minute incident at The Belmont in which Herne Bay's Danny Maxted was also shown the red card. Mr Kelly said in his report that he had seen Kadi bite Stace.

Kadi's future at Whitstable has still to be resolved although chairman Joe Brownett says it is unlikely any decision will be taken until the end of the season.
