Adebayo Akinfenwa says veteran manager Peter Taylor is cool.

The 60-year-old may be more reserved than predecessor Martin Allen, but Akinfenwa likes his style.

He said: “Gaffer’s cool. He’s different from Martin Allen, of course. Two different characters. But he’s cool.

“You have to respect his pedigree and what he’s done in the game. He does want to play the game the right way.

“He’s come in and wants us to be braver on the ball. He wants us to enjoy the ball more and you can’t really knock that.

“I haven’t got a bad word to say about the gaffer and he will get it right in the end.

“It’s not going to be easy. There’s going to be ups and downs and that’s how it is in football.”
