POWERTOUR heads to Brands Hatch this weekend bringing the best in British Championship motor racing to the famous Kent circuit.
A superb combination of the British Formula 3 and British GT Championships, PowerTour has been designed to showcase the sport.
The Grand Prix stars of tomorrow are set to do battle once again, in that springboard to Formula 1, the Green Flag British Formula 3 Championship.
Rising star Takumo Sato (Japan) currently leads the Championship but he will face tough competition this weekend from Matt Davies (UK), Gianmaria Bruni (Italy), Anthony Davidson (UK), and Australia's James Courtney, 2000 British Formula Ford Champion.
The GT Championship has got off to a great start in 2001, with a potent mixture of highly competitive drivers, in the most glorious sports car machinery around. Ex-Touring Car Champion, Tim Harvey, already has a win under his belt and will be looking for another good result at this, one of his favourite circuits.
Local interest will focus on Terry Rymer (New Barn). The former World Motorcycle Endurance Champion switched to cars last season and will be hoping for his first win at Brands Hatch.
Support races will include the ever-popular TVR Tuscans, Porsche Cup, Ford Fiesta Zetecs, Avon Junior Formula Ford and, of course, their 'big brother', the highly competitive British Formula Ford Championship.
To book in advance contact the Brands Hatch Call Centre on 0870 6060611.
