NON-LEAGUE football in the county gets the national TV treatment this Saturday when the BBC covers the FA Cup extra preliminary round tie between Ramsgate and Maidstone United.
The match marks the Stones’ return to the world’s most famous cup competition after 11 years and the tie has been chosen as the opening game in Football Focus’ Road To Cardiff feature and will kick off at 12.30pm.
The match is expected to attract a record crowd for an extra preliminary round tie with more than 600 tipped to be at Rams’ Southwood ground and Maidstone United Supporters Club predicting that up to 400 fans will make the trip from the County Town.
Stones chairman Paul Bowden-Brown said: "When you think how far we have come in the last 10 years the fact that we are in the FA Cup again and on television is unbelievable."
