00:00, 21 March 2008
WESTCOMBE Park were beaten 27-13 by Cambridge in National League 2.
The hosts took their chances and won the match after scoring three converted tries in an action-packed opening 20 minutes.
Cambridge scored the opening try of the match after breaking down the left but Combe hit back when Ben Lonegan came off the scrum, ran around the blind side and went over the line.
Cambridge were back in the ascendency soon after and with two more converted tries they moved into a 21-5 lead.
Combe made a good start to the second half with a try and a penalty. Tom Hayman crashed over to score the try and a penalty from Tom Whittingham took the scores to 21-13.
Cambridge remained on top and although Combe dominated the forwards but the home backs were much too good. Two further penalties sealed the win for Cambridge.
